Peter Bibby announces Butcher / Hairstylist / Beautician reissue tour

Celebrating a decade since the release of his debut record, Butcher / Hairstylist / Beautician, Midland’s most esteemed musical export, Peter Bibby, has today released a special 10-year anniversary re-pressing of the album via Spinning Top Records.

To mark this milestone, Bibby will be taking his infamous live show across Australia, performing the debut album in full alongside original band mates Nicholas Allbrook (Pond) on drums and Johnny Baird on bass. The tour kicks off at Fremantle’s Mojos Bar on Sunday, March 2, 2025, before heading across the country for shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Originally released in 2014, Butcher / Hairstylist / Beautician also now returns on 180g solid orange vinyl for its 10th anniversary re-issue.

“It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since we dropped this absolute haymaker of a record,” Bibby said of the re-release. “Those heady Melbourne days seem like they were just yesterday. Where has the time gone? A lot has changed over the years, but one thing has stayed the same for sure, and that is how absolutely killer these songs are. When I listened back to the record to see if I wanted to change anything for the re-release, I felt a bit nervous, like I was going to cringe my way through the tracks. I was pleasantly surprised, choosing to change nothing as it is completely unbroken and in need of no fixing.”

“Butcher / Hairstylist / Beautician holds a very special place in my heart, the record that put me on the map, full of songs I wrote before anyone really gave a shit. It’s pure and unaffected by the outside world and paints a detailed picture of a very different time in my life.”

One such song is Stinking Rich, for which Bibby reveals the previously unreleased music video today, directed by Triana Hernandez (Amyl and the Sniffers, Harvey Sutherland, Desire Marea). Check it out below.

Since his debut, Peter Bibby has released four studio albums, toured the U.S. with Pond, played the legendary open mic night at Pappy and Harriet’s in the California desert, and taken the stage at renowned festivals such as Laneway, Falls, All Points East, South by Southwest and South Africa’s Rocking the Daisies.
