Jazz in the Square series to go out with a bang this Friday with The Stories of Swing

There is now just one chance to get your toes tapping to the free Friday live jazz shows, as they take over Yagan Square Amphitheatre this Friday, October 27.

Swingin’ at the Savoy will take audiences on a journey through the untold stories of swing era legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Cab Calloway, and Louis Armstrong who shaped the history of music. Accompanied by energetic swing dancers, The Stories of Swing promises exceptional music and gripping tales that will leave you cheering for more.

Swingin’ at the Savoy regularly have sell-out shows at jazz clubs, festival events, river cruises and regional events. At the moment, they are recording their debut album and have recently taken this popular show, The Stories of Swing, around Western Australia.

The ensemble features Sid Hennessy on double bass and vocals, Mark Wearing on woodwinds and vocals, Jacob Greenmount on piano, Francisco Munoz on drums and Steve Vacca on guitar.

A variety of food offerings and soft drinks will be available for purchase from local Yagan restaurants, and picnics are welcome (no alcohol, please). Grab a cushion or rug to claim your spot!
