THE SMITH STREET BAND Back with new tour and music

Melbourne’s The Smith Street Band have announced a national tour, hitting Rock Rover on Saturday, November 30 and Rosemount Hotel on Sunday, December 1. After spending several months building their own off-the-grid studio, Smithies have promised new music in 2019, following the release of their last album More Scared of You than You Are of Me in 2017.

It’s somewhat of a comeback for indie rockers after they cancelled a national tour in March, with frontman Wil Wagner dealing with a public conflict and accusations of emotional abuse from his former partner, Camp Cope’s Georgia McDonald.

Fans rallied around Wagner when he announced the band were planning to announce a tour in July with a lengthy Facebook post, detailing with the challenges he had faced as a result of the dispute and the toll it had taken on his mental health.

The Smith Street Band play Rock Rover on Saturday, November 30 and Rosemount Hotel on Sunday, December 1. Tickets are on sale now on the Cool Perth Nights website.
