SYRIA BENEFIT CONCERT This Sunday

In the aftermath of the horrific chemical attacks unleashed on the civilians of Syria, activist/musician Tessa Davis started a CrowdRise fundraiser account to help the victims of the attack. After reaching the CrowdRise goal she decided to take it a step further by hosting a two stage live music event at the Rosemount Hotel to take place on Sunday, May 14 to raise money for Red Cross International.

Pulling together support from local musicians, artists, dance performers, music retailers as well as stall holders of local produce, it is shaping up to be a day of recognition and solidarity in support of the innocent victims of the war in Syria.

Live acts performing on the day are The Reductors, Old River Kid, James Dylan & The Sadmen, Tashi (pictured), Tessa Cyclone, The Lunettes and Dragon Fly as well as samba dance and belly dance performances by Yamina and Soreya and speakers from Amnesty International. There will also be produce stalls, a silent auction and raffle prizes donated from Jarrah records and Sound Centre in Morley.

Entry to the event is only $15. All proceeds from the event will go to Red Cross International.

If you can’t make it and would still like to contribute, you can make a donation at www.crowdrise.com.
