SMALL TOWN HEROES Blink 182, Twenty One Pilots, Fall Out Boy and more for new album

Unsigned Perth band Small Time Heroes are taking on all before them thanks to co-writes with Pete Wentz, Josh Dun, Chris Cheney and more for their debut album, recorded in LA with punk rock legends John Feldmann and Blink-182’s Travis Barker.
Now fans can see what all the fuss is about when a homecoming show hits Amplifier next Saturday, June 10.

Earlier this month, the band announced production had begun on their highly anticipated next release, and they’ve since confirmed
Twenty One PilotsJosh Dun, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, The Living End’s Chris Cheney, Rachael West, Fiona Bevan, Nick Bailey, James Bourne (Busted) and Feldmann have all co-written songs for the album.

“It really allowed us to explore a more personal avenue of songwriting,” vocalist
Josh Raven explains.
“We were able to focus on what we really wanted to write about, how it relates to us/others as a whole and the message we want to convey.

“I feel like we’re discovering tools to really create music that is just a pure reflection of us, as people and as a sound.”

The transformation of Small Town Heroes in recent weeks sees the Perth band reinvent themselves to some degree while retaining the core elements that secured them a dedicated hometown fanbase and buzz around the globe since forming only a couple of years ago.

“Fans can expect a change,” Raven comments on their new songwriting style.
“I think they will love the direction we’re heading because it’s not just us. It’s the most unique possible version of us and we’re still finding incredible ways to keep putting pieces of ourselves we didn’t know we had into this new music.

“Pushing barriers and comfort zones to really make this something unique not only to us but to everyone else.
I couldn’t be more certain that we’re now heading in a direction that really is starting to identify us as individuals and a band.”

“We also have an incredibly kind, understanding fanbase and that only motivates us further to try new things.”
Small Time Heroes play Amplifier Bar next Saturday, June 10. Their debut album is expected for release later this year.
