HELMET 30 Years, 30 Songs Anniversary Tour

Australian fans of alt-metal instigators Helmet have voted with their feet, selling out shows in Brisbane and Melbourne, with all previously announced shows for their 30 Years, 30 Songs Anniversary Tour not far behind. To cope with demand, extra shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Newcastle and, finally, Perth have been announced. Catch them Sunday, May 3 at The Rosemount.

But will they bring out former guitarist Jimmy Thompson again this year? Thompson, who lives in Perth, was a surprise guest at Helmet’s memorable April, 2017 Rosemount show, where they played 1994 record Betty in full.

Manipulating the boundaries of modern guitar music, mainstay Page Hamilton and Helmet have spent three decades fusing the rich complexity of jazz in a brutal sonic assault, providing inspiration for a multitude of bands, while drafting the well-thumbed blueprint for heavy music in the modern age. A brutally precise player possessing the ability to throw down synapse-contorting time signatures, Hamilton’s mathematic riffs and liquid leads continue to light the way for guitarists today.

The 30 Years, 30 Songs Anniversary Tour is set to bring fans together to experience two hours and 30 songs that define the history of this amazing band. A selection of classics, along with thoughtfully curated deep cuts, hopefully, mean this show will be as good as the 2017 show in the same venue. Once again there will be no support act, just Helmet.

Helmet’s 30 Years, 30 Songs Anniversary Tour hits The Rosemount on Sunday, May 3. For Tickets Click Here.
