GRINSPOON 20 years of better living

Grinspoon

Aussie juggernaut Grinspoon have announced a 20th anniversary deluxe edition of the album that kickstarted their careers, Guide To Better Living. To accompany the anniversary the band have announced a 27 date tour around Australia through from July to September.

Grinspoon will play two WA shows both in August, first at Dunsborough Tavern on Thursday, August 24 (18+) and the second show at Metro City on Friday, August 25 (also 18+).

Back in 1995 a band from Lismore submitted their track Sickfest to the triple j unearthed competition in its first year, the went on to win and their song was most played on triple j for several months. In 1997 they released their first album, Guide to Better Living on Universal Music.

After a four year hiatus the band are back to celebrate their highly acclaimed album. Their tour will celebrate the album but also boast some of their later hits. The tour is the largest of its scale by the band since their hiatus. The only time the hiatus was broken was to perform as a support act for Cold Chisel’s Perfect Crime Tour in 2015.

Talking about the 20th anniversary, lead vocalist Phil Jamieson says, “I hate nostalgia, it gets my goat. What I do love are tunes, and we’ve got tunes. I don’t think I really knew what I was doing when I made Guide To Better Living, but I know that playing this album from start to finish is going to be one of the most challenging, enjoyable and kickass things I’ll ever do!”

Grinspoon play the Dunsborough Tavern on Thursday, August 24 and Metro City on Friday, August 25. The deluxe album is out June 23 and is available for pre-sale now from   grinspoon.com.au. Ticketing information is also available from this site.
