ELLI SCHOEN Gold Mess EP and tour dates

ELLISCHOEN

Fremantle’s sultry songstress Elli Schoen has released her latest single and accompanying video, Gold Mess. The single is a first taste of her Gold Mess EP out now! The single was premiered on triple j’s Home and Hosed, and the accompanying video was directed by Perth’s visionary, Matsu.

Produced by Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe, Meg Mac) the track is a dark tale of forbidden fruit and suburban suffocation. Gloomier then previous tracks Mumma  and Hard Heart, Gold Mess teases at a new, determined direction for Schoen:

Gold Mess ties up the end of my suburban themes – breaking free from small town stuff,” says Schoen. “This feels like the end of a chapter, and the beginning of a new time.” Quartermain adds: “We tried to keep it as minimal as possible – If you went into crazy sound trickery land it would almost distract from the fact it’s a really great song with catchy hooks and an intriguing narrative.”

In celebration of her new release, Schoen has announced a string of tour dates throughout May that will see her take in most Australian capital cities and some regional performances in WA’s south.

Elli Schoen supports Billy Brag at Fremantle Art Centre show on Friday, April 28, before heading south to play Fremantle, Dunsborough, Margaret River and Busselton. Schoen will be back in Perth for May 11 where she will support Tash Sultana at her Astor Theatre show in Mount Lawley, then will play two dates with the highly regarded Airling on May 20 and 21 before heading east to play Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Upon returning home, she will appear at WAM’s State of the Art Festival on Monday, June 5.
