Download Festival has announced its first wave of artists to appear at the Australian leg of it’s world-wide jaunt, hitting Melbourne Showgrounds on Friday, March 20 and Sydney’s Parramatta Park on Saturday, March 21.
In an announce that no one would have imagined just a week ago, the bill will be led by emo heroes My Chemical Romance. MCR announced their break-up in 2013 and all members had gone on to other projects since. However they re-emerged last week announcing a reunion and comeback show in Los Angeles in December.
Other huge names on the line up are Deftones, Ministry, Jimmy Eat World, Clutch and Lacuna Coil. There’s also a good spread of Aussie acts on the bill, including Bodyjar, Hands Like Houses, In Heart’s Wake and Clowns.
Sadly, there is still no WA event on the Australian run, but get over to Melbourne or Sydney if you don’t want to miss out!
