Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes announces Australian headline shows
UK indie-rock legend Gaz Coombes has added a series of headline shows to his visit down under this year.
Hitting our shores to support fellow Brit Robbie Williams on his Australian tour, Coombes will perform his new album Turn The Car Around at Fremantle’s Freo. Social on Saturday, December 2. Perth power pop outfit Rinehearts will open for Coombes, in duo mode.
A Mercury-nominated solo performer best known for his work as frontman of legendary Britpop band Supergrass, it will be Coombes’ first Australian tour since 2018.
Renowned for nineties anthems Alright, Moving, St Petersburg, Pumping On Your Stereo and more, Supergrass have sold millions of albums globally.
Since 2010, Gaz Coombes has released four solo albums, including 2015’s Matador which earned him an Ivor Novello Award and a Mercury nomination. Coombes’ latest album Turn The Car Around debuted at #6 on the UK Official Album Chart, and claimed a Top 10 spot in Metacritic’s Best Reviewed Albums of 2023.
