SUMMARY:TINA ARENA: UNRAVEL ME - Windsor
DESCRIPTION:Marking 50 years in the spotlight\, TINA ARENA: UNRAVEL ME is an intimate and cinematic portrait of one of Australia’s most enduring and enigmatic artists. Told through two interwoven lenses – Tina the icon and Tina the woman – this landmark documentary peels back five decades of fame to reveal the dualities that have defined her life and the new revelations that have remained untold until now. \nBorn in suburban Melbourne to Sicilian parents\, Filippina Arena became Australia’s darling in 1976\, aged eight\, on Channel Ten’s prime-time variety show Young Talent Time. Her breakout 1990 pop single ‘I Need Your Body’ raunchily repudiated “Tiny Tina”\, and she went on to score a soaring run of 90s hits … but self-doubt\, misogyny and tall-poppy syndrome drove her to reinvent herself repeatedly in the UK and France: taking to the stage; seeking adventurous collaborations; and singing in Italian\, French and Spanish. \nBehind Tina the power balladeer and queer icon is the woman her family still calls Pina. This world-premiering documentary from Adrian Russell Wills (Kindred) unravels her vulnerable yet tenacious private self in candid\, dryly funny conversation. Also appearing in new and archival interviews are Tina’s two sisters; her mentor Johnny Young; and collaborators and admirers including Céline Dion\, Marc Anthony\, Ronan Keating\, Jessica Mauboy\, and Jessica and Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas. In bringing herself undone\, Tina movingly shows how music has made and mended her. \nScreening at Luna Leederville and Windsor Cinema from August 27.

My fans down under have remained loyal through the decades and supporting Go West on their 40th anniversary tour is a dream come true!” – 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗻. \nPeter Cox and Richard Drummie formed 𝗚𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 in the early 80s. Their debut single 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴 reached #5 on the UK singles chart in the spring of 1985. Their self-titled debut album sold over 2 million copies worldwide and remained on the UK chart for 83 weeks\, establishing them as one of the finest song-writing partnerships to emerge in the 80s. \n𝗚𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 have enjoyed numerous chart singles worldwide\, notably 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨\, the opening song in the extremely successful film 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯. The film’s soundtrack has sold over 10 million copies. 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 received ASCAP Awards in 1991 and 1992 as one of the most played songs on American radio. It is still a radio staple on playlists across the world. In Australia\, 𝗚𝗼 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 reached the ARIA top 10 with “We Close Our Eyes” (1985) and “King of Wishful Thinking” (1990). \n𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗻 returns to Australia for the first time since 1989 to perform live on stage. At just 17\, she became the youngest artist in history to write\, produce and perform a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Foolish Beat.” She remains the youngest female artist to accomplish that milestone. Her album 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 achieved platinum status in Australia and produced the ARIA Top 10 hit “Lost In Your Eyes.” Across her career\, Gibson has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide and established herself as one of pop’s defining voices of the late 80s. \nOften referred to as the “Original Pop Princess\,” Gibson has earned multiple chart-topping singles and a string of acclaimed releases. Alongside her pop success\, she has built an extensive stage career\, starring in 17 musicals over 17 years\, including 𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴\, 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦\, 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵\, 𝘨𝘺𝘱𝘴𝘺\, 𝘫𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘱𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘵\, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘰\, and 𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘵. She has also appeared in various film and television roles. Her most recent pop album\, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴\, debuted at No. 2 on the US Apple Sales chart in 2021. In 2025\, she released her memoir\, 𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤\, which became a US bestseller. \nA live show not to be missed\, bursting with nostalgia\, pop magic and music anthems that defined a generation.

An all-gay tribute to rock’s most aggressively heterosexual band shouldn’t work – until you hear it\, see it\, and realize it’s exactly what the rock world needed. GAYC/DC isn’t just playing AC/DC covers with a wink; they’re delivering what Louder calls “spot on” musicianship while transforming classics like “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” into “Dirty Dudes (Done Dirt Cheap)” with such authenticity that Music Feeds declares they turn “skeptics into fans.” \nFounded by Christopher Freeman (bassist for queercore legends Pansy Division) and drummer Brian Welch\, GAYC/DC has earned something rare in tribute band territory: genuine respect from the artists they honor. When the band released their audacious “Gay Boy Boogie” video – a homoerotic reimagining of AC/DC’s “Bad Boy Boogie” shot as a loving homage to Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” – Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider himself gave his seal of approval: “I think this is great!” \nThat endorsement matters. As Welch notes\, “We love Twisted Sister who took rock and drag further than anybody at the time. This is our homage and ‘thank you’ for giving us as young gay kids the opportunity to see fully grown men in drag every day on MTV decades before RuPaul’s Drag Race was a thing.” \nWhile their glitter-drenched\, boa-adorned presentation might read as camp\, make no mistake: Broadway Rock emphasizes that “while the band and their presentation may be campy\, their musicianship is pure\, unadulterated rock.” Classic Rock Magazine captured it perfectly: “GayC/DC have taken the songs of perhaps the globe’s most heterosexual band and turned them into something altogether more fabulous.” \nThe band’s recent “Gay Boy Boogie” video – premiered by American Songwriter and featuring cameos from rock luminaries including Johnny Martin (L.A. Guns)\, John Bush (Armored Saint\, ex-Anthrax)\, and dUg Pinnick (King’s X) in their previous “Highway to Hell” video – demonstrates how seriously the rock community takes GAYC/DC’s mission. This isn’t novelty; it’s reclamation. \nFor their first Australian tour\, GAYC/DC – rounded out by bassist Glen Pavan\, guitarist Patrick Goodwin\, and lead guitarist Steve McKnight – will bring their explosive live show to six cities across the country this February. \n𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 \n• Thursday\, February 19 – Brisbane\, The Brightside•Friday\, February 20 – Gold Coast\, Mo’s Desert Clubhouse•Saturday\, February 21 – Melbourne\, Stay Gold•Wednesday\, February 25 – Adelaide\, Lion Arts Factory•Thursday\, February 26 – Perth\, Milkbar•Friday\, February 27 –Sydney\, Mary’s Underground
