SUMMARY:TRIBUTE TO CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL – THE GREATEST HITS
DESCRIPTION:The Music of CCR holds a unique place in pop/rock history. “The Album Show” play the hits from Creedence’s career\, plus tracks John Fogerty. \nThe Music of Creedence Clearwater Revival holds a unique place in pop/rock history. The band had an almost unparalleled string of bona fide\, genre defining hits in the late 60’s and early 70’s\, at a time when popular music was evolving at an alarming rate. Their catalogue remains a statement of a unique and distinct mix of swampy country\, rock\, blues and pop. \nTo pay tribute to this iconic body of work\, the Sydney based music collective “The Album Show” in conjunction with Ben Maiorana Entertainment\, has put together a band of experienced and talented players and singers\, playing all the hits from CCR’s career\, a selection of important album tracks\, as well as selected tracks from the solo career of main writer\, John Fogerty. The lineup features Bathurst based Sophie Jones on guitar and vocals\, and Michael Carpenter on guitar\, keyboards and vocals\, as well as some of the most respected musicians in Australia presenting an authentic representation of this iconic band. \nThe show weaves together unforgettable hits like ‘Proud Mary’\, ‘Have You Ever Seen The Rain’\, ‘Born On The Bayou’\, ‘Bad Moon Rising’ and countless others with a narrative describing the timeline and impact of this enduring and influential band\, combined with striking visuals to create a memorable night of unforgettable music. \nMandurah Performing Arts Centre | Friday 29 May 2026 7:30 pm

SUMMARY:The Quiet One -The Music of George Harrison
DESCRIPTION:Duke of George presentsThe Quiet One – The Music of George Harrison \n“The Beatles exist apart from myself. I am not really Beatle George. Beatle George is like a suit or shirt that I once wore on occasion … people may see that shirt and mistake it for me. … I play a little guitar\, write a few tunes\, make a few movies\, but none of that’s really me. The real me is something else … I am a very humble person. I don’t want to stay in the music industry full time\, because I’m a gardener. I plant flowers and watch them grow.” \nAs a member of The Beatles\, where does one begin? As well as contributing guitar parts that complemented the Beatles’ songs perfectly\, standout George Harrison compositions include ‘Taxman’\, ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’\, ‘Here Comes The Sun’ and ‘Something’. The latter\, described by Frank Sinatra as ‘the greatest love song’\, has been recorded over 500 times\, and in multiple languages. Of all The Beatles’ songs\, only ‘Yesterday’ has been covered more. \nGeorge Harrison\, however\, saw being a Beatle as just one part of his life. He was a lead and slide guitarist\, singer\, songwriter\, collaborator\, record producer\, film producer\, instigator of star-studded charity concerts\, Formula 1 enthusiast\, and gardener; dedicating his autobiography to gardeners everywhere. \nA songwriter whose work had to push through the justifiably impenetrable Lennon-McCartney barrier for inclusion on Beatles albums. By the late ‘60s this was a cause of frustration for the maturing ‘quiet one’ and Harrison’s stockpile of compositions formed his triple album\, All Things Must Pass\, upon The Beatles’ breakup. It became the most successful album by a solo Beatle\, going seven-times platinum and being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. \nA musician who brought non-western instruments into the most popular band in the world. With such songs as ‘The Inner Light’ and ‘Within You Without You’\, Harrison introduced classical Indian instrumentation to a mainstream western audience. These deeply meaningful songs also show an intensely spiritual person whose fascination with eastern philosophies sparked widespread interest among youth counterculture. ‘My Sweet Lord’ spoke of his religious yearning and included Hare Krishna chanting. ‘All Things Must Pass’ was inspired by Taoist philosophy’s acceptance of impermanence\, whilst reflecting on the demise of the biggest band in the world. \nHarrison was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame both as a Beatle and as a solo artist. He was a Grammy award winner\, polled 11th in Rolling Stone’s 100 greatest guitarists of all time\, and number 65th in their greatest songwriters list. Three decades after beginning his career with The Quarrymen\, Harrison instigated the world’s biggest supergroup\, The Traveling Wilburys\, who had triple-platinum-selling success in the ‘80s. \nThe Quiet One is a celebration of all things George: his work with The Beatles\, his solo career and his time as a Traveling Wilbury. From tender ballads to slide-driven blues\, and uplifting pop to all-out rock. Enjoy the breadth of musical styles and reflect on the depth of his lyrics. “His head is filled with things to say.” \nDoors 6 pm\, Band at 7.30 pm

SUMMARY:Matt Angell Turns To ‘Dust’
DESCRIPTION:Matt Angell turns to ‘Dust’ \nJoin singer-songwriter Matt Angell as he launches his retrospective double album ‘Dust’.A collection of songs stretching back as far as 1991. \nMatt Angell is a musical maverick. With soul-stirring melodies and poignant lyrics\, his voice captivates audiences whether on intimate stages or large festivals. \nRaised in the rugged Pilbara of Western Australia\, Angell’s musical odyssey began when an old guitar jumped from a mini-moke and into his hands. \nWith a poetic and straightforward approach\, Angell delves into the harshness of life\, exploring themes of love\, loss\, and self-discovery. \nAngell will open the night acoustically\, playing tracks from (Part 1) of ‘Dust’\,raw and stripped back\, true to his soul and this side of the collection. \nDave Ferguson will be up next. \nFerguson\, a Karratha/Melbourne musician\, began his musical journey in Karratha before travelling to London\, then eventually settling in Melbourne\, where he became a major creative force behind Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene. His work helped shape the band into one of Melbourne’s most respected underground heavy acts\, earning a dedicated following drawn to their distinctive sound. \nInfluenced by everything from the quiet introspection of Nick Drake to the immersive heaviness of Black Sabbath\, Ferguson expanded his musical expression with the release of his 2024 solo album ‘In My Time’. The record strips back the volume to reveal acoustic\, honest songs that uncover the heart behind the heaviness. \nThings get cranked up a notch for the 3rd part of the show.Angell is joined by longtime bandmates\, Brad Walther and Dj Davy\, to play out (Part 2)—the electric side of things. \nCovering his many musical stylings of Blues\, Country and Rock. \nEverything returns to Dust. \nLyric’s Underground\, MaylandsMay 31st\, 2026
