SUMMARY:Matt Cal - Magic Potion EP Launch
DESCRIPTION:Duke of George presentsMatt Cal – Magic Potion EP Launch \nWA’s hardest working Blues and Roots musician is back after a HUGE 2025 performing Nannup Music Festival\, supporting Tijuana Cartel\, touring WA solo and touring with Ash Grunwald\, armed with his new EP Magic Potion. \nThe award winning musician returns with his trademark outstanding and groovy song writing and guitar sounds with an engaging story telling nature. The music flows with ease and a confidence that draws you into his whimsical world of folk/blues and roots themed lyrics along with Matt’s excellent guitar playing. \nBorn from an invitation to record at Sundown Studios\, O’Connor Matt worked with the very talented Lukas Drinkwater (UK) on Upright Bass\, Harmonies and production and mixed and mastered with Perth Prodigy Christian Peterson (Blink 182\, Tame Impala). The result is a sublime collection of WA roots music. \nMatt describes music as like breathing\, something he has always known yet remains a mystery. At 46 he has been writing songs for the better part of 30 years with little else grabbing his attention over the years. At his heart Matt is a story teller through song – crafting lyrics of truth\, fable and fiction to accompany his excellent acoustic guitar skills and live looping along with special guests on Didgeridoo\, Trumpet and Drums during the evening. \nOriginal songs with acoustic guitar\, dobro slide guitar\, cigar box blues guitar\, stomp box\, live looping and storytelling combine for a thoughtful\, unique musical experience that’ll have your ears\, hearts and souls warm and toasty. \n* * * \n1st single Great Ocean Road is OUT NOW: \nA couple of years ago my son\, then 11\, and I flew to Adelaide to visit my Nanna and then we rented a tiny buzz box wicked camper and drove to Melbourne. Our only rule we made was to stick to the coast road at all times. \nIt was a great adventure and when we hit the Great Ocean Road in the middle of spring it was a visual sensation of green and blue. Over the 2 week trip I got to know my son as a person rather than the guy at home keeping him in line and in hindsight it was a pretty big revelation. \nThe song is a joy. For me personally it’s the middle 8 that has the magic\, it is also the song that people love to ask about after the show. \nHave a listen here:https://mattcal.bandcamp.com/track/great-ocean-road \n* * *Door 6 pm | Show 7.30 pm12+ years require a ticket plus accompanied by an adult

Sitting seamlessly beside decades-deep cult cuts\, newer songs taken from 2023’s Your Future Is Your Past\, and current singles “Makes Me Great” and “Out of Body\,” crackle with intent\, delivering always that familiar revelation. \nFiercely self-administered\, The Brian Jonestown Massacre featuring long time conspirators Joel Gion and Ricky Maymi continue to exist to spite the whims of the zeitgeist\, instead inhabiting a deep psychedelic furrow lined with ramparts of guitar drone\, psychedelic pulsation and experimental shoe gaze texture to fortify Newcombe’s relentless output. \nReleasing much of their vast catalogue via their own self-sustaining A Records imprint and as always with more new music on the way\, The Brian Jonestown Massacre continue to deliver their art without compromise.

In 2026\, two heavyweights will head down under for a colossal arena run\, with Florida hybrid heavies 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 and California mainstays 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 joining forces for the BIG ROCK TOUR next April\, joined by special guests 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐕𝐑𝐊𝐒. \nSince forming in the early 2000s\, 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 have formidably shaped and expanded the musical landscape\, with their signature blend of potent pop punk and heaving metalcore catapulting them from the underground into international headliner status; and an enduring\, ever-growing global fanbase rapidly rising to match. \nPioneers of pop-mosh and one of the true linchpins in the alternative scene\, 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑’s commercial acclaim and chameleonic creativity has defied expectations and preconceived notions of what it means to be a rock band in the 21st century\, with each of the ADTR’s eight full-length albums rocketing to #1 on the Billboard Rock\, Indie and/or Alternative Charts upon release\, along with one platinum album\, two gold albums\, one platinum single\, and four gold singles. With nearly 2 billion worldwide streams in their wake\, and sales over three million units\, 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑’s sweltering commercial triumphs are equally matched by their indelible live performances\, capable of stupefying packed arenas around the world with unforgettable cuts including 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑜𝑤𝑛𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑂𝑓 𝑈𝑠 𝐴𝑙𝑙\, 𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝐼 𝑊𝑎𝑛𝑡 and 𝐴𝑙𝑙 𝑀𝑦 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠. \nHaving shared stages over the years with Yellowcard\, Falling In Reverse\, New Found Glory and Parkway Drive amongst countless others\, 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 have spent 2025 extensively on the road\, including headlining in the UK\, Europe and North America\, and performing at Knotfest Australia\, Slam Dunk Festival\, Rock am Ring\, Hellfest\, and Vans Warped Tour. Kicking off the new year performing with Avenged Sevenfold and Mr. Bungle in South America\, 2026 is undeniably set to once again affirmthe band’s stalwart live reputation that had Melodic Mag declare: “𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑎𝑢𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒\, 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑖𝑔ℎ-𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑔𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝\, 𝑐𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑠 𝑎𝑠 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑑𝑦𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑐 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦.” \nTwo-time GRAMMY-nominated and Platinum-selling rockers 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 have perfected evolution and raw power over the course of 30 years. Hailing from Vacaville\, California and forming back in the early 90s\, 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 embody resilience in every sense of the word. \nReleasing their debut album\, 𝑂𝑙𝑑 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑠\, in 1997\, the band have since gone on to release 11 studio albums\, including their most recent outing 𝐸𝑔𝑜 𝑇𝑟𝑖𝑝\, unveiled in 2022 via their own label New Noize Records. A band equally fluent in weaving fresh takes on the alternative and hard rock realms time and time again\, 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 have also spent their storied career calling attention to mental health; a driving theme that stems back to day one and the release of their genre-defining 2000 debut single 𝐿𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑡. A breakout hit taken from their 2000 album 𝐼𝑛𝑓𝑒𝑠𝑡\, 𝐿𝑎𝑠𝑡 𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑜𝑟𝑡 would also go on to pave the way for 26 career Top-10 hits\, 12 career #1s and an ongoing global impact that most could only dream of. \nTeaming up with The Used in 2023 for a double-header Australian run\, 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 balanced fan-favourites with plenty of surprises for their Aussie fans\, with Scenestr capturing 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇’s Brisbane magnetic performance that year: “𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒’𝑠 𝑎 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑜𝑓 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑟𝑜𝑤𝑑 𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑔𝑖𝑎 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑢𝑝 𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑠 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑑 ℎ𝑦𝑒𝑛𝑎𝑠\, 𝑤ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒”. And if the walls could talk at any of the countless venues 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 have played throughout their careers across the globe\, both as the main event and alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers\, Limp Bizkit\, Eminem and more\, the resounding sentiment would be that 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐂𝐇 aren’t just revered for their longevity; this is a band who can adapt\, survive and thrive\, brandishing an underdog spirit with prime-time appeal. And they’ll be bringing it with spades alongside 𝐀 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 next April. \nFrench modern metalcore heavyweights 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐕𝐑𝐊𝐒 have become one of the most in-demand names in the scene\, forming in 2014 and going on to push the very fabric of their genre via their signature blend of blistering heaviness\, infectious melodies and emotionally-charged lyrics. Over the course of four studio albums\, including their latest 2025 full-length 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝐼’𝑣𝑒 𝐸𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝐵𝑒𝑒𝑛\, 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐕𝐑𝐊𝐒 continue to raise their own benchmark to ferocious heights. Ticking off a successful world tour in 2024\, the group have solidified their standing as a global powerhouse\, and their electrifying shows leave audiences breathless\, as does their stacked back-catalogue that spans the likes of 𝑆𝑢𝑙𝑓𝑢𝑟\, 𝑆𝑢𝑓𝑓𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑒\, 𝑆𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑠 and many more. Marking their first national Australian headline tour earlier this year\, 2026 will find 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐕𝐑𝐊𝐒 once again wowing Aussie crowds with their trademark brutality. \nPrepare to scream your lungs out ’til your head starts spinnin’ and dance with the demons on a high wire because all signs point down under next year. SUMMARY:Primus Vs. Mr Bungle - A Night of Kooky Covers at the Rosemount Hotel
DESCRIPTION:A collective of Perth’s cover kings are paying tribute to experimental funk rock titans PRIMUS and MR. BUNGLE in this mega double-feature! \nSome say the works of Primus and Mr. Bungle were far ahead of their time\, redefining genres and subverting listener expectations in a myriad of stupefying ways – others called their “music” nonsensical and improvisational… Whichever camp you fall in\, it can’t be denied that their chaotic creations have been dissected and worshipped for decades now\, and the quirky charisma of their respective frontmen Les Claypool and Mike Patton continue to be adored by many. \nCome on down to the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth for a dose of their kookiest tunes! First to take the stage will be BUNGLE’S BOWEL OF CHILEY\, a six-piece band presenting a wide variety of Mr. Bungle’s most unhinged ditties. Once the opening act have finished melting faces\, FRYMUS will culminate the evening by exploding the minds of all patrons left standing! There is no trio in the whole of Western Australia more equipped and skilled enough to fulfil the task of recapturing the colourful discography of Primus. \nTickets are Officially Available Now! Don’t you dilly dally!! \nSet times to be announced closer to the date.

Returning in 2026\, Helmet will deliver inspired and essential moments from across their extensive back catalogue\, satiating once again the Australian hunger for a night of drenched intensity. \nFormed in New Yorkby Page Hamilton\, Helmet rewired heavy music guiding peers like Deftones\, Korn\, through to Pantera and later Mastodon\, to heel to the power of the brutal riff. \nHelmet’s 1992 landmark Meantime album went gold and cemented them as trailblazers of the heavy music scene. From the genre-bending Betty (1994) which included the alt version “Milktoast” on cult 90’s film The Crow\, and Aftertaste (1997) to their return with Size Matters (2004) and a string of uncompromising releases through Dead to the World (2016)\, Left (2023) they remain a critical force.

His music insists on the power of genuine emotion and radical sincerity. Engaging deeply with the crisis of modern life\, Maus longs for truth and transcendence in an age of irony\, alienation and political decay. His new project is a radical reawakening – powered by faith\, acceptance\, and an urgent belief that time is of the essence and this is the moment of truth.

His songwriting appears on albums from Rod Stewart\, k.d. Lang\, Nick Lowe\, Emmylou Harris\, Fiest and Michael Bublé. He has built a steadfast reputation with critics and some of his songwriting heroes ( Paul McCartney\, Elton John\, Ray Davies\, John Prine\, Gordon Lightfoot\, Leonard Cohen\, Elvis Costello\, Chris Martin to name just a few) for his characteristically honest\, sensitive and enduring approach to the songwriter craft which over the years has evolved into a unique and timeless blend of classic pop\, contemporary folk and roots-rock idioms. \n“With a songwriting style that’s modest and often brilliant\, Sexsmith creates music that’s delicately crafted\, suffused with a kind of melancholic grace.” – The Guardian \nSexsmith has JUST released his album “Hangover Terrace\,”on 18th\, on August 29\, 2025. The album title is a play on Hangover Terrace\, the name of which tickled the fancy of Sexsmith’s drummer Don Kerr. He labelled it “Hangover Terrace”- “a lightbulb moment” for Sexsmith who snagged it for the title. The record produced by Martin Terefe includes 14 songs\, marks a departure from his recent work. \n“My last few albums actually had a feeling of rural contentment\, “Hangover Terrace” feels more wounded to me\,” says Sexsmith… “There’s some self-examination going on and a desire to know who my real friends are. It also deals with the passing of time and how many more things become dear.” \nFilmmaker Rod Arrowsmith made an acclaimed documentary in 2010 called ‘Love Shines’ which follows Sexsmith’sas he embarks on an effort to achieve new commercial success with his 12th album.
