Amassing hundreds of millions of streams worldwide\, they have toured extensively across the UK\, Europe\, North America and Australia. Earlier this month\, they shared their poignant new single “Whisper Of A Dream”\, their first new music since 2023’s The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction and their debut release with Sumerian Records. Since forming in 2015\, Holding Absence have rapidly established themselves as leaders within modern post-hardcore\, with The Noble Art Of Self-Destruction closing a defining trilogy that began with their 2019 self-titled debut and 2021’s The Greatest Mistake Of My Life. \nJoining them on all dates\, Kingdom of Giants return to Australia following their 2023 run with Bury Tomorrow. Since then\, they’ve released two new EPs\, Bleeding Star and Burning Chrome\, and are primed and ready to bring their expansive and cinematic take on heavy music back to Aussie stages. An all-gay tribute to rock’s most aggressively heterosexual band shouldn’t work – until you hear it\, see it\, and realize it’s exactly what the rock world needed. GAYC/DC isn’t just playing AC/DC covers with a wink; they’re delivering what Louder calls “spot on” musicianship while transforming classics like “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” into “Dirty Dudes (Done Dirt Cheap)” with such authenticity that Music Feeds declares they turn “skeptics into fans.” \nFounded by Christopher Freeman (bassist for queercore legends Pansy Division) and drummer Brian Welch\, GAYC/DC has earned something rare in tribute band territory: genuine respect from the artists they honor. When the band released their audacious “Gay Boy Boogie” video – a homoerotic reimagining of AC/DC’s “Bad Boy Boogie” shot as a loving homage to Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” – Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider himself gave his seal of approval: “I think this is great!” \nThat endorsement matters. As Welch notes\, “We love Twisted Sister who took rock and drag further than anybody at the time. This is our homage and ‘thank you’ for giving us as young gay kids the opportunity to see fully grown men in drag every day on MTV decades before RuPaul’s Drag Race was a thing.” \nWhile their glitter-drenched\, boa-adorned presentation might read as camp\, make no mistake: Broadway Rock emphasizes that “while the band and their presentation may be campy\, their musicianship is pure\, unadulterated rock.” Classic Rock Magazine captured it perfectly: “GayC/DC have taken the songs of perhaps the globe’s most heterosexual band and turned them into something altogether more fabulous.” \nThe band’s recent “Gay Boy Boogie” video – premiered by American Songwriter and featuring cameos from rock luminaries including Johnny Martin (L.A. Guns)\, John Bush (Armored Saint\, ex-Anthrax)\, and dUg Pinnick (King’s X) in their previous “Highway to Hell” video – demonstrates how seriously the rock community takes GAYC/DC’s mission. This isn’t novelty; it’s reclamation. \nFor their first Australian tour\, GAYC/DC – rounded out by bassist Glen Pavan\, guitarist Patrick Goodwin\, and lead guitarist Steve McKnight – will bring their explosive live show to six cities across the country this February. \n𝗔𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 \n• Thursday\, February 19 – Brisbane\, The Brightside•Friday\, February 20 – Gold Coast\, Mo’s Desert Clubhouse•Saturday\, February 21 – Melbourne\, Stay Gold•Wednesday\, February 25 – Adelaide\, Lion Arts Factory•Thursday\, February 26 – Perth\, Milkbar•Friday\, February 27 –Sydney\, Mary’s Underground
