Australia holds a special place in the hearts of Mayday Parade and fans similarly embrace the band with open arms. This September the beloved Tallahassee quintet return to play a career spanning set on their biggest headline tour to date with โThree Cheers For 20 Yearsโ, a celebration of their storied, two-decade career – and youโre all invited! Joining the festivities will be special guests and recently reunited Jack’s Mannequin (US) and The Home Team (US). Tickets will be available Tuesday February 25 at 9am local time via Destroy All Lines, early bird presale available this Friday.
Since their debut album ‘A Lesson In Romantics’ was released in 2007, Mayday Parade were quick to create a groundswell and become one of the most iconic cult classics in the scene spawning seven studio albums including hits Jamie All Over, Miserable At Best and Kids in Love and Stay to name just a few.
The band recently announced plans for a three-part album project, with the first instalment ‘Sweet’ dropping this April, marking their eighth and latest chapter in the long history of the band, who have two decades of playing and releasing music together under their belts. Such longevity is a feat in and of itself, and one the band doesnโt take for granted. “I think a large part of why we are all still here is that we have been friends most of our lives, even before the band,โ says the band. โThis is everyoneโs full time job and passion. We all love playing music, so the fire is still alive. We have created something important to us and itโs imperative that we maintain it by giving it the requisite attention.”
Jack’s mannequin, the brainchild of Andrew McMahon, make their long-awaited return to Australia after 15 years! Also preparing to celebrate their 20th anniversary, the highly adored SoCal band previously reunited for only a handful of special occasions. The alternative pop rock group released a total of three acclaimed studio albums, with both their sophomore LP ‘The Glass Passenger’ (2008) and third and final album ‘People and Things’ (2011).
The Home Team are travelling to Australia for the second time for the ‘Three Cheers For 20 Years’ tour, after crossing the ocean last May with Caskets (UK). The quartet have introduced stylings of R&B, pop and funk into their music in an effort to be true to their tastes while crafting their unique sound and return to play new songs for the first time off their latest album ‘The Crucible Of Life’.
Don’t miss Mayday Parade celebrating their rich history with Australia this September joined by Jack’s Mannequin and The Home Team. Tickets on sale Tuesday February 25 9am local time via Destroy All Lines. Early bird presale available this Friday.
