YOUR CHOICE To make a positive change

Your Choice is a music industry supported campaign launched last week in Melbourne to raise awareness surrounding behaviour and lack of personal accountability within Australian venues and event spaces.

Some big names including Falls Festival/ Splendour in the Grass co-founders Paul Piticco and Jess Ducrou, Rhett McLaren of The Hills Are Alive Group and Jaddan Comerford, CEO & Founder of UNIFIED Music Group are behind the campaign, in the hope that the conversation will extend around Australia; a positive, preventative conversation.

Your Choice believes that everyone has a right to a good time without others’ actions coming at a personal or public expense. Both organisers and patrons share the responsibility for creating a safe and enjoyable experience. Our culture needs a preventative conversation to exist rather than just a reactive one, they want to focus attention on awareness around what is acceptable and expected behaviours.

The goal of the initiative is to create a more positive conversation around the issue and come up with preventative strategies to support those already in place.

The Your Choice website will provide a platform for venues, artists, festivals and others to share information around policy, ideas regarding safety etc.

Claire Spencer the CEO of Arts Centre Melbourne says, “We bring people together to share in remarkable cultural experiences. Providing a safe environment to collectively experience live music is our number one priority. We’re proud to support Your Choice in creating cultural change in the live music scene.”
