WAM Song of the year submissions now open

Returning to celebrate WA songwriting, WAM Song of the Year 2017/18 is now open for submissions until Monday, February 12.

The state-wide search for WA’s best songs offers over $45,000 worth of prizes to songwriters of all ages, levels and genres. With this year’s competition now open to published works, there are even more opportunities for local songwriters to have their work heard by leading music industry judges.

There are 16 diverse categories, including Blues/Roots, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Folk,
Jazz, Metal/Heavy, Punk/Hardcore, Pop, Rock, Urban/Hip Hop and World, plus extra categories for Schools (14 Years & Under), Schools (15-17), Outstanding Indigenous and Outstanding Regional each offering winners a $500 cash prize, studio time with WA’s best, a double pass to WAMCon 2018 and more.

Category winners are all in the running for the Grand Prize package, which includes everything you need to kickstart your career.

All winners will be announced at the Awards Party, at the iconic Fly by Night Club in High Street, Fremantle on Wednesday, May 16.

Entries for WAM Song of the Year 2017/18 close 5pm Monday, February 12.
