TOOL Confirm Australian tour and Perth date

It’s already being called the most anticipated audiovisual tour of 2020. Californian rockers Tool return to Perth for the first time since headlining the 2011 Big Day Out next February. In a reversal of their 2013 Australian tour, this time Adelaide misses out but the tour will open in Perth on Friday, February 14 at RAC Arena with special guests still to be announced. Happy Valentine’s Day!

The tour comes off the back of the band’s critically acclaimed fifth studio album, and their first new record in 13 years, the #1 ARIA Album Fear Inoculum. Read the X-Press 9/10 review HERE.

Still with the core line up of Danny Carey (drums), Justin Chancellor (bass), Adam Jones (guitar) and Maynard James Keenan (vocals), the groundbreaking live show is said to be an immersive visual experience.

You might want to leave your phones at home though – fans hoping to grab some footage or take a pic face immediate ejection, with Tool instructing venue security to enforce their mobile-free policy in the US recently. North American fans were sent the following warning via email: “We respectfully request that you please watch and listen to the show, not your phone. You will be ejected from the show without the opportunity to return and without a refund if you violate this simple request and elect to take photos during the performance. In the event of a personal emergency, phone use may occur on the concourse away from the performance area.”

Tool first formed in 1990 and prior to Fear Inoculum released four multi-platinum studio albums: Undertow (1993), Ænima (1996), Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006); two EPs: 72826 (1991) and Opiate (1992) and the limited-edition box set Salival (2000).

Fear Inoculum is out now. Tool play RAC Arena on Friday, February 14. Tickets on sale Friday, November 22 via frontiertouring.com/tool.
