7.5/10

When Tired Lion returned home to celebrate the release of their debut album, Dumb Days, they received a warm welcome, and celebrated in style, with one hell of a show.

Fellow Perth acts FOAM and The Love Junkies opened up the show with great sets which warmed up the crowd, with some punters even starting the head-banging early.

Tired Lion opened with huge track Japan which got the crowd jumping straight away. A highlight from their album, the song translated well live.

The band also played through hits Suck, Fresh and Not My Friends before opening up a bottle of champagne they had saved specifically for this day. “The first proper gig we played was at Amplifier so it means so much to be back here celebrating our album.”

They then invited FOAM and The Love Junkies back on stage for an epic cover of Blur’s Song 2, crowd surfing ensued, and it was truely a highlight of the show.

Clearly having a blast, the band rocketed into Agoraphobia, before slowing things down for I’ve Been Trying.

Closing with hits I Don’t Think You Like Me and Cinderella Dracula, the band played an excellent show, a wonderful celebration of their album Dumb Days.

Tired Lion are a band that get better every time you see them live. Sophie Hopes continues to grow as a front woman. Tired Lion are the real deal and a band that are a live force to be reckoned with.
