THORNBIRD High flying bird

Thornbird, AKA Vikki Thorn from The Waifs, will take her self-titled debut album on the road for four Western Australian shows this winter.

The singer-songwriter will perform at Ravenswood Hotel on Sunday, June 12; The River, Margaret River on Thursday, June 16; Freo.Social on Friday, June 17; and Albany Town Hall on Saturday, June 18. Thornbird will be joined by WAMAward-winner Siobhan Cotchin for the first three dates, with special guest Tammy London in support for the Albany show.

The tour follows on from the release of Thornbird’s self-titled album which came out in March. The record features the singles Tempest, a tale of hope and regeneration, the feel-good vibe of All The Things and the wild west ode to love and relationship Bullets and Heartache, featuring Simon and Tammy London from The Red Tails.

Vikki Thorn is a seasoned Australian performer. As one third of the multi-ARIA Award winning trio The Waifs, Vikki has released eight albums and constantly toured the world. Produced by Vikki and Dan Carroll and recorded at Rada Studios in Fremantle WA, the album details the experiences of living in the canyons of the US and describes the inspiring women Vikki Torn has met along the way, all made with a band that “just clicked.”

These shows come after Thornbird toured across Australia to celebrate the album release, with performances at Wildflower Festival in Victoria and at Kings Park alongside John Butler and Kasey Chambers.

Thornbird’s self-titled debut album is out now. Thornbird plays multiple dates in Western Australia from Sunday, June 12 until Saturday, June 18, 2022. For more info and to buy tickets head to Thornbird’s Facebook events page.
