THE VIC PARK SUMMER STREET PARTY Park life

The Vic Park Summer Street Party returns to the urban village of Victoria Park on Sunday, November 19 between 2pm and 9pm to deliver another great series of attractions to suit all ages and tastes.

Up to 50,000 people are expected to take over the Albany Highway café strip between Dane and Mint Streets and right up in to the Park Centre in East Victoria Park for an entertainment and cultural event that aims to bring together the entire Victoria Park community.

Among the attractions are three entertainment stages hosting local bands, dancers and DJs, a man-made Mexican-themed beach with sand and umbrellas, a silent disco, three pop-up bars, a laneway bar, beach bar and street performers, street-eats and stalls.

The event also features the touring inflatable artwork Octopied by international artist Luke Egan (aka Filthy Luker) which had locals doing double-takes as it took over the top floor of the Balmoral Hotel.

Highlights include Cultural Clash Fusion (promising a mix of Bollywood Dancers, Chinese Lion Dancers, Junkadelic Brass Band, and Eco-Faerie Magic), a main stage programmed by Rhubarb Records showcasing local indie bands (including The Weapon Is Sound, Moana and Foam), the ‘Mooja’ Christmas Wishing Tree by local indigenous artist Nerolie Blurton, and a two storey high Venus fly-trap over the Balmoral.

The Vic Park Summer Street Party will take place this Sunday, November 19 between 2pm and 9pm. Check the Vic Park Collective website or the Vic Park Summer Street Party Facebook page for details.
