Congratulations to Perth director John V Soto on his latest effort, The Gateway, scooping a slough of awards at this year’s Austin Revolution Film Festival. The Australian science fiction film picked up Best Film, Best Visual Effects, Best Director, and the Audience Award for Best Film.
The Gateway should be in national release towards the end of this year. Starring Jacqueline MacKenzie (Don’t Tell, The Water Diviner, Romper Stomper), it is a tale about a particle physicist, who after the death of her husband, uses a revolutionary machine to travel to parallel worlds to find him again.
Of course, breaking the laws of physics rarely ends well in sci-fi, and we look forward to seeing how events turn to the catastrophic.
The Gateway is released locally this December.
