SOUNDS OF THE SOUL For the children of the Holy City

Haven’t had the chance to check out the new Port Beach Garden Bar in North Freo yet? Well this is a great opportunity to do so, promising a unique experience for an evening out that also supports a fantastic cause. The SCOOP Foundation Australia is presenting a special Sounds of the Soul music fundraiser on Thursday, March 1 with a night of musical entertainment featuring live performances by Jess Morwood, DJ Llando and local performers from 6pm.

It’s all about raising money for children at Jeevan School in Varanasi, India. Those who have been to the ‘holy city’ on the Ganges in north India would have been struck by the unique beauty of the place, but could not have missed some of the real challenges faced in the city with poverty burdening much of the population and sadly depriving many of its children of the dignity, security and opportunity they deserve.

For Jess Morwood, the evening is a chance to generate awareness and support for an initiative she championed, founding a school in Varanasi over ten years ago that has brought hope and a future to the children there. Also a performer on the night, this is part of Jess Morwood’s unwavering commitment to this cause as she travels the world to raise money to sustain free education and meals for the school and hostel. The Jeevan School in Varanasi provides free education to over 130 children and a safe home to over 30, and runs completely on donations from various people and other NGOs.

Jess and the SCOOP Foundation encourage everyone to bring friends and family and join them for an evening of music, market stalls, silent auctions, great food, and more.
It will also be an opportunity to hear Jess share inspiring stories of her experiences and more about the special school she runs on contributions.

SCOOP Foundation Australia’s Sounds of the Soul takes place on Thursday, March 1 at Port Beach Garden Bar (at the Railway Hotel) from 6pm until midnight. Tickets are available from https://www.trybooking.com/TTLY.
