About eight empty sea containers have been found washed ashore at Port Beach, following Sunday’s HardStraylia, a festival featuring RL Grime, Destructo and Motez.

A City of Fremantle spokesman said the organisers, Horizons Touring, were aware of the incident and were responsible for clearing the area.

“There is no risk of the containers floating away, they have holes in them,” he said.

“There have been reports of them bobbing in the ocean, which is simply not true.”

It is understood the containers were used as barriers to block out the bad weather for three festivals at Port Beach that Horizons had organised.

Perth Now has reported that a crane was used, unsuccessfully, to move the containers earlier this morning.

Horizons’ managing director Saran Bajaj will make an official statement shortly.
