PROXIMITY FESTIVAL Is back for a fifth year

Proximity Festival is set to return for its fifth year this September at Cathedral Square bringing ten days of one on one performances to life.

This years festival will take place from September 26 to October 7 and features an exciting array of theatre, hip hop, dance and live-art performers from around Australia creating nine personalised experiences.

The list of artists includes Cigdem Aydemir (NSW), Hannah Brontë (QLD), Mike Bianco (USA/WA), Liam Colgan (WA), Rachael Dease (WA), Atlanta Eke (VIC), Jen Jamieson (WA), Nat Randall (NSW) and Tyrone Robinson (WA).

For the first time, the festival will occupy multiple buildings and outdoor areas, audiences will be treated to three programs of three different 20 minute performances in public and private spaces.

Co-curators for the Festival, Kelli McCluskey and Sarah Rowbottam say, “Aligning with Cathedral Square is a bold step into collaborating with multiple venues. Get ready to search for love in high places, celebrate black matriarchy through power-laden rap, pit yourself against a robotic tennis opponent, and ride back-seat on a motorcycle as you become an extra on a film set.”

Tickets and program details will be released 22 August 2017 at: www.proximityfestival.com.
