PERTH FESTIVAL 2018 Barbed banter and hair raising tales

Perth Festival have shared another four picks for the 2018 edition, following the announcement of Ben Folds at the Chevron Festival Gardens last month. The festival will run from February 9 to March 4.

Il n’est pas encore minuit… (It’s Not Yet Midnight…), a French circus show by Compagnie XY will be making its Australian premiere. Also showing will be Inua Ellam‘s Barber Shop Chronicles, Michael Clark’s To a simple, rock ‘n’ roll… song, and Jordi Savall with Hespèrion XXI and Tembembe Ensamble Continuo performing Folias Antiguas & Criollas: From the Ancient World to the New World.

Il n’est pas encore minuit… (It’s Not Yet Midnight…) will be showing at The Regal Theatre from Thursday February 8 to Saturday February 17. The show will feature 22 acrobats from Compagnie XY, and is injected with humour and the soundtrack of a 1920s jazz club.

Barber Shop Chronicles will be showing at The Octagon Theatre from Friday February 9  to Sunday February 18. Set in six different barber shops across London and Africa on the same day, it has been praised for its barbed banter and and hair raising tales.

To a simple, rock ‘n’ roll… song will be showing at His Majesty’s Theatre from Wednesday February 14  to Saturday February 17. This dance spectacular is split into three acts, one a reflection on Erik Satie, one a punk tribute to Patti Smith, and the third a tribute to David Bowie.

Folias Antiguas & Criollas: From the Ancient World to the New World will be showing at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday February 17. This show explores music from the Middle Ages, Baroque Spain and the Americas.
