MAX AND IGOR CAVALERA Don’t mention Sepultura

Max and Igor Cavalera have announced that to celebrate twenty years since their album Roots, they will be touring Australia and playing the album in its entirety each night, including a Perth stopover at the Astor Theatre on September 26.

Twenty years on, and Roots still stands as a high watermark for metal, despite new bands changing the soundscape and redefining ‘heavy’.

Max Cavalera says, “Metalheads. It’s time. Twenty years ago, we released the Roots album and changed the face of metal forever. Now, we’re returning to ‘The Roots’ to show everybody the magic and inspiration of the Roots live experience!”

Igor adds, “I am very proud to play Roots again – to reaffirm that after 20 years, it still moves people. We hit the stage again with Roots to destroy everywhere we pass by.”

Max left Sepultura in 1996 and Igor left 10 years later, making the latter the last original member of Sepultura to leave the band.

Joining the tour will be Skindred, who have been described as one of the most devastating and enthralling live bands on the planet.

Max and Iggor Cavalera will bring the Return to Roots 20th Anniversary tour to Perth playing the Astor Theatre on September 26. Tickets go on sale Thursday 6 July, 9am local time from destroyalllines.com.
