LYRIC’S UNDERGROUND Kill Devil Hills, Moana & more

New live basement venue Lyric’s Underground have announced a bunch of new shows for the month of December. The Ghost Hotel, Randa & The Soul Kingdom, Moana (pictured), The Kill Devil Hills and Injured Ninja are among the new list of acts to perform at the venue from December 6 to December 21.

Starting this Friday, December 6 catch The Ghost Hotel. The five-piece band are a pop-rock, country music fusion with a sharing of vocals. They lead a cracking line up including The Leap Year in an even rarer sighting, The Wine-Dark Sea and Josh Fontaine.

Continuing this weekend on Saturday, December 7 is Randa & The Soul Kingdom, who are guaranteed to put some funk in your trunk. With soulful horns, high octane vocals and gritty rhythms, they’ll be sharing their feel-good goodness around. Special guests Cecilia Brandolini and Freehand are also on board.

The following weekend sees Moana continuing their In the Allure album tour. The creative project of fierce artist Moana Mayatrix, this four-piece incorporate experimental art, theatre, spoken word performance, poetry and costume into their act. Verging on dangerous, expect to be taken away by their otherworldly performance, which fittingly falls on a black Friday, December 13.

Then The Kill Devil Hills will play their last show for the decade later in the month on Friday, December 20, marking their first time playing at Lyric’s Underground, and a rare show north of the city; and Saturday, December 21 is Injured Ninja bringing a night of noise-punk music also featuring Zerodent, Grunge Barbie and more.

These acts are all in addition to the previously announced Music for Emily featuring Nikki Jones and the Beautiful Losers on Sunday, December 15.

Lyric Underground’s addition of new live acts kicks off this Friday, December 6. For tickets and more information head to facebook.com/pg/lyricsunderground/events
