LIVE AT THE AMPHITHEATRE Free Dan Sultan and more

City of Canning kicks off a free entry, three event series for March this weekend called Live At The Amphitheatre which will feature local and national acts at the Civic Amphitheatre each Saturday from Saturday, March 3 until Saturday, March 17.

The first show this Saturday will feature Fremantle folk-rockers The Hunting Birds,  lap-slide guitar maestro Andrew Winton and world-beating Melbourne twins The Pierce Brothers.

Saturday, March 10 opens with Beatlemania – a tribute show with a twist! Catch fun and very danceable covers of other musicians’ covers of classic Beatles hits such as those from Al Green, Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett. This will be followed up by WA favourites Murphy’s Lore, featuring Australian Idol star brothers Chris and Courtney Murphy and a headline slot from Milford Street Shakers, offering a toe-tapping tribute to some of the most soulful American music of all time.

The final show will feature local world-music powerhouse The Bambuseae Rhythm Section and contemporary indigenous soul duo The Merindas. The series is set to go out in smooth style with ARIA Award winner Dan Sultan bringing his soulful grooves and breathtaking voice to the Amphitheatre stage.

Each event will be family friendly and will include kids activities as well as a pop up bar and food trucks. Head down from 3pm, sit back and soak up the festival atmosphere and await the 5pm concert. Live At The Amphitheatre is proudly sponsored by Healthway and Act-Belong-Commit. For more information head to the City of Canning event page.
