LADY POWERS VOL. 4 Ladies to the front

Ruby May
It’s time to celebrate the women making waves in the music industry, and Lady Powers is a series of events dedicated to doing just that. Throughout the year, the series has been showcasing many talented female and genderqueer musicians. To wrap up the four-part series, Lady Powers Vol. 4 will be presenting some up-and-coming local artists that are ready to put on a show at The Bird on Friday, October 25.

As with the previous events, the whole show is run by women to support women and genderqueer people in the music industry. It highlights the emerging musical talents that have been cementing their mark in the local scene. Previously, they had featured the likes of Demon Days, Alter Boy, BEXX and Smol Fish. For the finale, however, the featured line up includes MOANA, Ruby May (pictured above), Grace Armstrong, Leopard Lake and DJs Special Feelings.

There will also be an artist/creatives mini market, which features creations by women to be displayed and/or sold. The event is one-of-a-kind: the only event in WA that is completely run by women to support women in the music industry. From the organisers, graphic designers, photographers and performers, everything is dedicated to empowering, supporting and celebrating the power of women.

Lady Powers Vol. 4 hits The Bird on Friday, October 25. Tickets available at the door.
