Lavazza’s Italian Film Festival is back in Perth from September 24 – October 15, and it’s gonna be a ball – 35 comedies, dramas, and a few Cannes contenders labelled “Top Shelf”. Highlights include Nouvelle Vague-style Darker Than Midnight, biopic of legendary drag queen Fuxia; Incompresa, featuring Charlotte Gainsbourg and a whole lot of superstitious symbolism; and the critically acclaimed The Wonders, a dreamlike family drama about apocalypse preppers. Also look out for the host of films with screwball titles like The Worst Christmas Of My Life and Blame It On Freud.
