In recent hours, however, things took a positive turn when Twitter user @sirtessa created the hastag #illridewithyou as a show of support for the Muslim community in Sydney and all around the country, as more people joined to offer support for their journeys to or from work in the coming hours. The hashtag has gone viral, restoring some care and solidarity across communities as we all continue to hope that the hostages make it out of the siege safely.
