FRINGE WORLD 2018 Kicking off this weekend

It’s FRINGE WORLD time! The comedy and arts festival is kicking off this weekend with an array of shows starting on Friday, January 26. People of Perth are invited to shake off the borings and enjoy 31 days of amazing entertainment at the biggest annual event in WA.

Running from Friday, January 26 until Sunday, February 25, Fringe is the absolute best time of year in Perth, when everyone makes the most of the great weather to enjoy entertainment at almost 130 venues spread throughout Northbridge, Perth CBD and other neighbourhoods in our great city.

Many Fringe favourites will be launching on Saturday, January 27, including The Pleasure Garden, The Ice Cream Factory and Fringe Central.

There is heaps of free events happening over the weekend to enjoy, including the free Birak Concert at Supreme Court Gardens on Friday. A concert celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities, the term Birak is used to describe the beautiful Nyoongar season — the balmy summer months of December and January. With a plethora of music, dance, art and food, the concert is for everyone.

Fremantle will also be taking part in the free fun with the One Day in Fremantle concert taking plus on Sunday, January 28. It will feature Kate Miller-Heidke, DJ Kevin Parker, Baker Boy and Djuki Mala.
