FALLS DOWNTOWN New venue and first announce

The Falls Music & Arts Festival is back in WA for the second straight year in 2018 and with Fremantle’s Kings Square redevelopment in full swing, Falls Downtown has a new home at the Fremantle Oval Precinct along Parry Street, once again incorporating and reimagining historic sites, streets, carparks and buildings.

Flume, Fleet Foxes, Liam Gallagher, Run the Jewels, Confidence Man, Camp Cope and, err, Daryl Braithwaite are among the big names heading the first announce. It all goes down Saturday, January 6 and Sunday, January 7, 2018. Check out the complete first line up announcement below.

Designed to delight, entertain and inspire audiences and artists, Falls’ unique passouts policy will also continue to retain free flowing access to all of Fremantle’s many delights during the weekend – Fremantle Markets, cafes, restaurants, retailers, artisans, tourist sites, the port, Bathers Beach and more.

Plus inside look forward to a range of spooky installations, food trucks and local gourmet fare, pop-up bars & beer gardens, the return of loo-loos ladies’ toilet lounge, interactive arts, makers’ markets and loads of other Fremantle awesomeness.

Alongside what will be WA’s largest and fanciest outdoor beer garden, catch your favourite headliners in comfort under the huge trees and heritage grandstand or get up close on the softest grass in town at the historic Fremantle Oval. Do some detective work and find yourself in the custody of producers, VJ’s and DJ’s in the outdoor Danceteria locked within the walls of the Old Fremantle Police Station ‘000’ complex. After dark you can escape into The Old Time Music Hall, with music, dancing and accoutrements designed to transport you to another time. Expect authentic blues, jazz, bluegrass, swing and more.

In the tradition of comedy clubs the world over, they’re turning the Odd Fellow into the Downtown Comedy Club. Head down the stairs and prepare to enter a basement where no-one leaves without a smile, a laugh or a split side.

All the venues will be connected by nooks, crannies and streets lined with markets, food, entertainment, bars and more to ensure a weekend full of delight and adventure. Here’s the line up so far:
