WINTER NIGHTS: THE LION NEVER SLEEPS

Queer pride parade meets audio history tour.

The Lion Never Sleeps is a walking performance through the streets of Northbridge. Equipped with a listening device and headphones, three performers and an audience of 20 navigate, meander and move through spaces and places where the queer community gathered, danced, made community and fought during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s.

This project was originally developed as part of the Still Here LGBTQIA+ Artists Lab at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, through Propel Youth Arts/Kickstart Festival and Perth Festival.

As part of The Unexpected program in Winter Nights 2019. Presented by Noemie Huttner-Koros.
