The DSUS Afro-Peruvian Group is a multi award-winning 7 piece ensemble which has gained international recognition for its unique original compositions influenced by Afro-Peruvian rhythms, and fresh, unique arrangements of traditional Peruvian folk songs. Founded in 2011, the ensemble continually pushes forward with innovative ways to express artistic sensibilities from the Afro-Peruvian and Jazz musical traditions – releasing 3 full-length albums, touring throughout Australia and the USA, and collaborating with world class musicians including Grammy award-winning trumpeter Brian Lynch (Art Blakey), percussion legends Alex Acuña (Weather Report) and Sammy Figueroa (Miles Davis), and Peruvian cajon icon Freddy “Huevito” Lobaton.
