DUDE WHERE’S MICAH? THE FINALE End of an era

Anyone who knows dance music in Perth knows Micah.

The irrepressible breaks, bass and house DJ has defined an era in Perth clubbing history – as a Resident DJ at Ambar for 16 years, music programmer and integral member of the Boomtick family and long time presenter on RTRFM’s Full Frequency, Micah has been pivotal in the evolution of the club and festival scene (see: Ambar, Breakfest).

Now after 16 years, he has made the decision to move on from Boomtick, and start a new chapter. So this Friday, January 12 will be the Finale: his last DJ set at Ambar (though we are skeptical of whether or not this will in fact be the case).

What we are not skeptical about is that this very special night called Dude, Where’s Micah? The Finale will feature a six hour retrospective set taking you on a journey thought the last 20 years of dance music. And there will be vinyl.

The night will also feature sets from Ambar alumni, Choice and Ben Mac, as well as other special guests. The good folks at Boomtick are even making the occasion free entry. The event starts at 9pm, with Micah on at 11pm. This is going to be one big party you wont want to miss.

“I’m going to be celebrating the closing of this chapter with a big ass party at Ambar playing all the music that made the club such a special place for so many of us,” he says. “If we’ve ever boogied on the dance floor, done shots at the bar or gotten rowdy in the room, it would be an honor to have you down again to revel in the memories.”

Dude, Where’s Micah? The Finale is on this Friday, January 12 at Ambar.
