DARK MOFO 2018 Lineup highlights

Dark Mofo have released their 2018 festival lineup, including a wide range of art, music and other dark delights. The festival will take place across Hobart with events starting Thursday, June 7 and ending on Sunday, June 24. 

Music highlights include performances from Laurie Anderson, Tanya Tagaq, Electric Wizard, St. Vincent, Alice Glass, Lydia Lunch, Zola Jesus, Nobody (Willis Earl Beal), Jarboe and Father Murphy, Einstürzende Neubauten, Blasphemy, Batushka, Portal, Autechre, Marlon Williams, The Haxan Cloak, Merzbow, William Basinski, Rebekah del Rio, Iona Fortune, Peder Mannerfelt, Group A, ALTAR, (Roly Porter + Paul Jebanasam), Pan Daijing, Demdike Stare + Michael England and Charlemagne Palestine and many more.

Art highlights include Australian exclusives; Lou Reed Drones, Ryoji Ikeda from Japan, United Visual Artists, Matthew Schreiber, French & Mottershead, Chalkroom (Laurie Anderson + Hsin-Chien Huang), and Terrapin Puppet Theatre, as well as ZERO at MONA, A Journey to Freedom at TMAG and Soda_Jerk along with many more artists.

Other dark delights for punters to get excited for include the return of Ryoji Ikeda’s xenon searchlight work Spectra, a masked costume ball, multi-venue late-night party precinct, Twin Peaks-esque Bang Bang Bar, guest curation by Berlin Atonal, Dark Park, Winter Feast, Nude Solstice Swim, ogoh-ogoh purging and burning, theatre, orchestra, opera, more.

Dark Mofo Festival, Hobart runs from Thursday, June 7 until Sunday, June 24.
