Immerse yourself in the extraordinary mind of Salvador Dali, arguable the greatest surrealist artist of our time, at Dali Land this FRINGE WORLD. From January 18 to February 17, Metro City will be transformed into an epic extravaganza for the senses that is set to warp the mind and redefine the boundaries of reality, while paying homage to the life and works of the legendary maestro.
The immersive exhibition, curated by Robert Buratti and presented by Creative Nations and Buratti Gallery, will take place over four levels of Metro City and will feature over 200 works including film, drawings, sculptures, photography, performance art and much, much more. Guests will get the chance to step into some of his famous artworks with the virtual reality experience and there is an opportunity to unleash your inner surrealist at the creative workshops being held throughout the festival.
In addition to this, there will be a second exhibition called Unconscious Contemporary which will feature work by contemporary esoteric and surrealist artists in conjunction with significant historical artists of the Dada and Surrealist movements. As this is an all ages event, it’s perfect for the kids as well.
For the night owls, the award-winning creative collective Briefs Factory presents Dali After Dark. A world premiere site-specific immersive theatrical event that will have guests experiencing mind-altering visceral mayhem and scintillating live corporeal mischief as they navigate the exhibition as they please. This is a restricted 18+ plus event and guests will have access to The Surrealist Salon rooftop bar that will open late for Dali-inspired cocktails, music and food, all designed to titillate the tastebuds and electrify the eardrums.
The exhibition opens and the decadence begins with The Surrealist Ball on January 18, presented by Creative Nation. This is an exclusive VIP, red-carpet, black-tie, cocktail-style event that offers guests first time access to all exhibition areas as well as an Epicurean night of avant-garde food, wine and art. This is an 18+ event and a hot ticket this FRINGE, so book early to avoid disappointment.
