COOLIO 90s, 00s and Top 40s

Grammy award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Coolio will perform at Perth’s Capitol, as part of their 90s, 00s and Top 40s club night on Friday, May 10, before heading to Groovin the Moo in Bunbury.

The American rapper, actor, celebrity chef (seriously) and record producer achieved mainstream success in the 90s with his albums It Takes a Thief (1994), Gangsta’s Paradise (1995), and My Soul (1997), selling over 17 million records.

Coolio took over the world with his Stevie Wonder-inspired rap, 1995’s Gangsta’s Paradise, which sold over six million copies, was Billboard Magazine’s number one single of the year and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance. He is also known, to a lesser degree, for the singles Fantastic Voyage (1994), 1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New) (1996) and C U When U Get There (1997).

Coolio has won an American Music Award, three MTV awards, two Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and a World Music award. He has received six Grammy award nominations (1994, 1995 and 1996), two Billboard Music Awards (1994, 1996), two ASCAP awards (1996, 1997), three MTV video awards (1996, 1997), four American Online Awards (1996) and was the Playboy Music Poll winner in 1997.

Coolio performs at Capitol for their 90s, 00s and Top 40s club night on Friday, May 10 and Groovin the Moo in Bunbury on Saturday, May 11. Tickets to the Capitol show available via Oztix.
