Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and collaborator, Ásgeir, returns with his highly anticipated second album Afterglow. The first single released Unbound is a mix of chirping electronic melodies and stop-start beats which evolved from the lyrics “nothing holds me back now”.
This is the first new music from Ásgeir since his debut album release In The Silence back in 2014 which has immense success resulting in two sold out shows at the Sydney Opera House and feature album on triple j.
Born and raised in the very small Icelandic town, Laugarbakki (population 40 people, maybe few more) you can imagine starting out wouldn’t be the easiest of tasks, however, Ásgeir has certain been an incredible success. The Icelandic version of the album, Dyrd í dauðathogn, became one of the fastest selling albums in Iceland outselling Bjork and Sigur Rós.
