AKADEMI The Classroom reimagined with a kinky twist

The Classroom
was once an award winning and groundbreaking small bar in North Perth, but has now become Akademi. Set to break kinky new ground in Perth’s nightlife, it’s a partnership between David Jardine, one of the fetishists behind Club Freak, and Sara White of cocktail caterers Mint & Mirth, that has resulted in Perth’s first dedicated pro kink/alternative bar on Charles Street. Head along to the opening this Saturday, October 19.

Offering fetish themed nights and workshops, it is a new, chilled, safe space for the kink, alternative and LGBTIQ community. Strongly emphasising the idea of radical inclusion, everyone is welcome, although they emphasise that just because the theme is fetish, doesn’t mean consent matters any less than it does in any other bar or club. Watch this space for future events as they carve out a unique niche in Perth’s landscape.

Perth has come a long way in recent years with embracing the weird and unusual and becoming more accepting of all aspects of sexuality, and Akademi aims to be at the forefront of this movement. It would appear to have great potential in the lead up to PrideFEST 2019, too. Please note that there is a minimum standard of dress that requires all black, but kink dress is preferred. Embrace your inner fantasies and dress to impress.

Akademi opens this Saturday, October 19 from 6pm at 356 Charles Street, North Perth and will be open 6pm- midnight Wednesday to Saturday and 12-6pm Sundays.
